The ABBATars look great, sound great with a live band and youll get a good view wherever you sit in the 3,000 seat Arena,

The show starts off with relatively unknown The Visitors and Hole in Your Soul. They work very well, actually. The next  five popular hit songs are: SOS,  Knowing Me, Knowing You, Chiquitita, Fernando,  and Mamma Mia. They go down a storm - with Chiquitita surprisingly being  the audience favourite of those, with people waving their arms. My favourites in this section and ABBA songs generally were SOS performed with flashing lights over the audience and Knowing Me Knowing You up full on gigantic screens. After these ABBAtar performances comes Does Your Mother Know which is performed by the live band and goes down well, with lyrics from a woman's perspective.

The final 2 songs of the show,  Dancing Queen and then The Winner Takes it All get very positive responses. That last song has a choir at the end of the song - and given ABBA's track record on choirs thankfully works well.

It's the 10 songs in the middle that are a bit hit and miss. When All is Said and Done, Don't Shut Me Down and I Still Have Faith in You are relatively less known and quite heavy. The first two of those have very uninspiring performances which really aren't selling the songs. The latter song comes across best though, it has more emotional verses, upbeat chorus and visual interaction between the ABBAtars; it gets the most positive reaction from this trio.

On top of that 2 cartoons, not ABBAtars are used for lesser known Eagle and  more popular Voulez Vous. People use these cartoon interludes as unofficial toilet breaks. Waterloo is old Eurovision footage and Thank you for the Music is a translucent screen over the main performing area. Odd.

Of the ten "middle" songs only the three "disco" songs Lay All Your Love On Me, Summer Night City and Gimme Gimme inject much needed fun combined with energetic dancing from the Tron ABBAtars.

The individual "ABBA" members each get to introduce a song each and there is a bit of banter in remembering Eurovision.

If you only know ABBA through Gold Greatest Hits there will be 7 of the 20 songs you won't know.

Overall the show is very enjoyable but could be better by adding a couple of popular hits (such as Take a Chance in Me and Money, Money, Money) and removing at least  the cartoons.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TIP: tickets are expensive. Shop around even if that means going on a Monday,  Thursday or Sunday  and booking several months in advance.
